All About WWE NXT Takeover
NXT Takeover is the recurring special series of WWE Production presenting their NXT brand. NXT Takeover streams live on WWE Network. NXT take over events take place several times a year. They are scheduled for two hours on air, but some have taken more than that i.e. typically two and a half hours.
The first NXT live event was entitled NXT arrival. However, was named “NXT TakeOver” from next live special and being called that from since. They at starting were held at Full Sail University, but after NXT TakeOver in Brooklyn the Special event started to be held at different location both nationally and internationally. The NXT Takeover Special series are dealt much the same to all the other pay-per-view main shows.
Starting from NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, it was decided that from now on the TakeOver Specials would take place before the “Big Four” pay-per-view events of WWE namely, WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Summer Slam and Survivor Series.
Due to this arrangement, TakeOver aside from taking place in the same city as the “Big Four” pay-per-view events, occasionally took place in same arena as well. Anyhow, this is not a matter of course because TakeOver: Chicago took place the night before Backlash event branded by SmackDown.
